HOUSE OF WAX - DVD

the DVD is already out in Germany (strangely.. but WOTW is coming out a month before the US release, too)...
transfer is fine, picture, sound, everything as expected. The extras are quite good and fun... especially Joel Silver's introduction.
Of particular interest is the alternate opening. I guess the mpaa forced them to take that out, but still I think it is much better than the one used. It sets the tone, i.e. gore galore paired with dark humor... the theatrical intro sets up a whodunnit which never really pays off or is followed through till the end.
Well, a deleted scene worth a watch for a change.
If you liked the movie, the DVD is recommended, if you haven't seen it, rent it first, the movie may start too slow for most out there, but the final 20 minutes are worth the whole trip (and the alternate opening... ok, im sick!) and of course you all want to see Paris getting it, don't you?
