Super-Hero Summer Box-Office Scorecard

#1 Post by AndyDursin »

Thought it would be interesting to see how all of these films fared, keeping in mind GREEN LANTERN is only starting to roll out overseas (though it's not playing well where it DID open; its domestic gross isn't going to generate a lot more either). X-MEN has opened in most international markets by this point so it's not likely to go a heck of a lot higher.

So far, THOR 2 has been greenlit (no surprise there with its numbers) but I think the jury is out on X-MEN FIRST CLASS. While profitable, it has seen a huge dropoff from the prior series pictures. GREEN LANTERN is clearly DOA and it cost the most of all!

THOR ($150 million budget)
Domestic: $177,441,877
+ Foreign: $259,561,239
= Worldwide: $437,003,116

X-MEN FIRST CLASS ($160 million budget)
Domestic: $135,153,626
+ Foreign: $186,658,643
= Worldwide: $321,812,269

GREEN LANTERN ($200 million budget)
Domestic: $94,422,253
+ Foreign: $29,400,000
= Worldwide: $123,822,253
