2009 Films Ruined by the Writers' Strike

Fascinating article about why so many films released in 2009 were clunky (if not outright bad) -- essentially because they went into production without finished screenplays. The writers' strike prevented filmmakers from refining unfinished scripts into something shootable, and in several instances actors were forced to improvise their dialog...

Yeah, that was my first thought. I felt that film was badly written. Come to find out it was barely written at all!

Yeah the script was bad/non-existent. On the other end, problems seem to follow director Marc Forster whereever he goes when it comes to "event" movies like WORLD WAR Z. He was a poor choice on top of tepid material.
