Just finished watching this -- the first time I've seen it in over 20 years (when I was 11!).
What an enjoyable yet sad experience, seeing so many familiar faces who have passed on. Almost like a tribute to a Hollywood that's long since past, with some really beautiful Steve Allen songs (scored by Morton Stevens). Top-class production values for TV with John Dykstra effects and Fred Koenekamp cinematography. But again, it's got so many wonderful actors, and so many of them that have recently left us. The ending is even more bittersweet now because of it!
Nice work by Sony bringing this to DVD, and keeping the two-part structure intact. Highly recommended when it arrives early next month in stores.
