When Ellison can pull the impossible and make me think someone's being too harsh on Roddenberry, it puts me in mind of the "Odd Couple" episode where an incredulous Felix says to Oscar, "Do you realize what you've done? For the first time, you've got an audience rooting for Howard Cos...

In all candor, after suffering through Ellison's self-indulgent book on "City On The Edge Of Forever", my system would never be able to withstand hearing him go on a rant on DVD.

I'd love to know just what the response on that was! When you see that happen after awhile, you can't help but recall Cleavon Little in "Blazing Saddles," going "They are so DUMB!" I always regretted that Kenny didn't get a chance to continue with "V" as well, sin...

All of the footage in "747" is lifted from "Airport 1975".

I so hated the TV movies (if you were going to have David "die" at the end, at least have Jack McGee there too!) that I felt compelled to write my own fanfic story wrapping up the series just so I could then watch the episodes with a clearer conscience about how things turned out. Interest...

I keep hearing conflicting stories on this point, but did Kenny actually write a script that would have wrapped up the series? If he did, this would be something I'd love to see because just reading it would lend a proper sense of closure to the show that never happened. While the Ultimate set was a...

It'll be a very long time before they get to the memorable last episode of "Newhart" on DVD, but when they do, I'll be interested in whether it'll be the original version or the syndicated version which does a key bit of music replacement. In the original broadcast version, when Bob turns ...

Bob Newhart On DVD

I'll be picking up the new season 3 release of the Bob Newhart Show today, and am glad Fox is rolling this and subsequent seasons of the Mary Tyler Moore Show on a fairly regular basis now. The whole run should hopefully be done by the end of next year. As to why "Newhart" isn't appearing ...

In fairness, having it as something bad wouldn't have been a sustainable premise for a regular series, so I can't fault them on that. It's flaws came from other areas, especially the gimmick of thinking that Dick Butkus and Bubba Smith could do anything other than mildly amusing Miller Lite commerci...

The news of this only makes me ask one thing. WHY? Sony has been sitting on its butt in terms of proceeding further with the second season of so many better series, that it frankly insults my intelligence to think that this forgettable thing from way back is going to have its entire run represented ...

I got a chuckle seeing that the "I dare you to knock this battery off my shoulder" commercial is being included as an extra. That may be all the incentive I need to get a show that I have to confess, I've never seen one episode of! :)

I didn't mind Samantha Bond. I didn't see her as replacing Lois Maxwell, who will always be the perfect Moneypenny, I saw her as replacing Caroline Bliss who was terrible and totally wrong in the part. Then again, I always considered the entire Dalton era to be the lowpoint in the series. Moneypenny...

Whoa! No Q and no Moneypenny? I'm sorry, but that is messing with tradition way too much. You can tone down the gadgetry, which I'm for, but to me the requisite scene with Q, even if Desmond Llewelyn is no longer with us, was always something to look forward to, as was the obligatory byplay with Mon...

And I'd certainly call this version of "Ten Little Indians" Shirley Eaton's best non-Goldfinger role, for whatever that's worth! :) Some of the best Christie adaptations I've heard are the BBC Radio versions of the late 80s-early 90s which were released on cassette in the US. Their version...

"Ten Little Indians" DVD

Re: The review of "Ten Little Indians" on DVD. This is indeed the best of the remakes that have been made of the 1945 classic "And Then There Were None" (I always liked that title better). There was a 1959 live TV version on NBC that was so-so (hindered by the one hour format), a...
