Re: Read a Book, then Watch Its Movie!
MOONRAKER by Ian Fleming (1955, 247 pages). Sir Hugo Drax, a British national war hero, is in the final stages of building a new ICBM for England called the Moonraker. Everyone is proud and excited about the new weapon and cannot wait for it to be tested…but M is suspicious of Drax because it seems ...

Re: All Things BATMAN Thread
I finished watching the Batman 60s TV show this week. Season Three was interesting in that they brought in Yvonne Craig as Batgirl (maybe to appeal to a female demographic and get rating back up) and most of the Dynamic Duo's encounters with villains were wrapped up in one episode instead of two (th...

I hear they are going back to a young Superman/Clark Kent. Boring...pass for me.

Re: Variety Posts, Then Deletes, Jennifer Lawrence Interview Claiming "No Female Action Heroes Existed Before HUNGER GAM
It's sad to me that Lawrence would say something like that. Says a lot about what she thinks about her own self and how she prefers her own delusions to reality. But then again, Hollywood is all about delusion and illusion...and as Andy said, she (and many others) have been in the bubble too long. T...

Re: R.I.P. Kirstie Alley
It's probably the biggest disappointment with III and onwards that they couldn't figure out what to do with the most exciting addition to the cast in that series. Obviously not retaining her was the major issue and I thought it was a money thing despite whatever or not they all publicly said. Eithe...

Zero interest in seeing this...and zero interest in supporting Disney's agenda (let alone KK's agenda). Pass.

Re: New RAMBO 4K UHD Coming in 2023 with Remastered Soundtracks (FINALLY) & Transfers
Definitely on board for this purchase. Keep us posted Andy! I have yet to see LAST BLOOD; despite the ups and downs of the series I have to give a lot of credit to Stallone for creating a memorable character. I find all of the movies entertaining, with RAMBO being downright moving (moreso than FIRST...

Re: All Things BATMAN Thread
BATMAN RETURNS (1992). 9.5/10. I am probably rating this higher than I should, but to me this film is much more mature and intriguing than Burton's first effort. Elfman's score is immense and moving; the set designs and the winter season backdrop make Gotham much more mysterious, magical, and menaci...

Re: All Things BATMAN Thread
Interesting stuff!
I don't blame Astin for his performance...he had HUGE shoes to fill as Gorshin really owned that character. Astin did what he could but those two episodes are really bad. The Puzzler chacater was just...bad. Lol...

Re: All Things BATMAN Thread
Just finished Season 2 of the TV Show...lots of ups and downs with some uninspired villains (Black Widow, The Archer, The Puzzler, etc.). In addition, John Astin was completely miscast as The Riddler...one of the worst episodes of the bunch. Eli Wallach as Mr. Freeze was okay...but the series' best ...

Re: Read a Book, then Watch Its Movie!
There are spoilers ahead if you have not seen the movie... THE SEA WOLF by Jack London (1904). Told from a first person point of view, literary critic Humphrey van Weyden is on his way back home from a meeting with a friend when the ferry he is sailing on gets into an accident with another boat in S...

Thanks for posting that piece about Dersu Uzala...I ordered the DVD from the link. I have one of the old DVD copies of it...looking forward to something more clean (and the supplementals)!
