Re: Academy President Admits “Our Future Is With International Cinema As Much As American”
I keep seeing advertisements for a national $3.00 per movie cinema day (something like that) to get people back in theaters. There is nothing that interests me so even cheap prices aren't going to get me back into theaters at this point.

Maybe they will do MANHATTAN MURDER MYSTERY too - unfortunately I was slow and missed out on the TT release.

Leave it to Disney to ruin another franchise.

Re: rate the last movie you saw
I too enjoyed Basil's score and play it every now and then. However, I have not seen the movie in decades and have never felt an inkling that I was missing out on something.

Re: Kathleen Kennedy Will "Remake STAR WARS or Destroy It"
She can do whatever she wants to it at this point and that is fine by me. STAR WARS was one thing, but now it is another thing. Everyone knows what Disney is and what it stands for - we should not be surprised. And we should not be surprised that KK could care less about the former fan base; like mo...

Re: Tolkien Fans Already Savaging LORD OF THE RINGS Amazon Series
As much as I enjoyed THE HOBBIT and LOTR books, I cannot say I am really invested or interested in that universe. I never read any of the other things Tolkien and his son wrote (heck...I haven't even read the Appendicies for the LOTR series). And while I thoroughly enjoyed Peter Jackson's LOTR trilo...

Re: Read a Book, then Watch Its Movie!
Just a head's up - it is impossible to talk about all this stuff without giving spoilers. So just know for the Bond book/movie reviews, there are book spoilers ahead. CASINO ROYALE by Ian Fleming (1953, 181 pages). With this novel the world was introduced to James Bond 007, spy for the British gover...

Re: THE LAST JEDI - Just as Good as I Remembered!
Just for the Space Leia thing it might be worth watching once (for free) if you are able to do so...I laughed out loud when I saw it and will never forget how ludicrous that scene is.Eric Paddon wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 12:52 pm I refuse to ever look. Re: THE LAST JEDI - Just as Good as I Remembered!
The legacy of THE LAST JEDI for me will always be the absurd and unintentionally hilarious Space Leia thing - one of the all-time dumbest things I have ever seen in a movie. In addition, asking the audience to accept Leia as an advanced Jedi master (could an untrained novice have done what Leia did ...
