The price on the Imprint HALLOWEEN steelbooks is absolutely laughable. Throw in their tarriff fee and its $350 ish USD and doesnt even include VI.

Gouging collectors left and right. The US Shout releases are perfectly good and cost a fraction of that. These will be the same masters on top of it!

Andy, I agree.

Even my friend in Australia thinks they are cashing in on their own popularity. The only ones I have on pre-order, are Department S and Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. I suppose at some point, they might release Fireball XL-5, Supercar and Stingray. Some of the live action series could also include the 1964 series, Gideon's Way (released in the US as Gideon CID), Nigel Kneale's Quatermass and Robin of Sherwood.

Battle Of Britain (1969)
4K UHD + Blu-ray Limited Edition Hardbox + Hardback Booklet
Imprint Collection #500
“We’re short of 200 pilots. Those we have are tired, strained, and all overdue for relief. We’re fighting for survival. Losing. We don’t need a big wing or a small wing. We need pilots. And a miracle.”

After the tremendous success of our 2024 release of A Bridge Too Far, we are thrilled to nosedive back into World War II with 1969 epic Battle of Britain, coming to 4K UHD for the first time worldwide, fully restored by Imprint Films from the original 35mm negative.

This is an aviation spectacular like no other. Filled with extraordinary large-scale flying sequences and heart-stopping assaults, director Guy Hamilton (Goldfinger) pulled off a miracle bringing this film to life, a mammoth undertaking in scale and combat.

Based on the real-life events from July to October 1940 and the book The Narrow Margin by Derek Wood and Derek Dempster, Academy Award-winning cinematographer Freddie Young (Lawrence of Arabia) tackled the daring undertaking of capturing these daring recreations.

An all-star cast leads us into battle, including Laurence Olivier, Michael Caine, Christopher Plummer, Robert Shaw, Harry Andrews, Kenneth More, Trevor Howard, Patrick Wymark, Ian McShane, Michael Redgrave, Michael Bates, Edward Fox, Nigel Patrick, Ralph Richardson, Susannah York, and Curd Jürgens.

This brand NEW 4K restoration comes loaded with brand NEW and archival Special Features, and is housed in a strictly Limited Edition 3-Disc Hardbox with an exclusive 100-page hardback booklet.

It's a pity Arrow couldn't do it with The Good the Bad and the Ugly 4K.

I have to be honest, I don't like it when labels do that. If it's limited, it ought to be limited, because the set's value is a reason that factors, to some degree, into my decision to buy some of these (or not). If they just decide to keep on pressing copies, it absolutely detracts from that value.

Just say it's not limited if that's the direction you're going.

On these other "hardback releases", I'd like to pick up GI JANE but $90 for a single movie unless it's got something extraordinary in terms of extras and bonuses (which this doesn't, it's just packaging) is a no-go. The one factor there is Disney owns it in the U.S. so there's a zero chance it ends up coming here.

BATTLE OF BRITAIN, however, is MGM and that almost certainly will show up elsewhere (as A BRIDGE TOO FAR is going to).

JADE is already out in the U.S. from Vinegar Syndrome so no need to pay more on that one (if at all given how lousy it is lol -- though I confess I did!).

I think the prices for TGTBATU are quite horrendous. After getting stiffed by Arrow (once) and Rarewaves (twice), makes me think twice about these extortionate prices on eBay. Does anyone know if they will be available on the US end?

Arrow cant release it in the U.S. because they dont have the license, Kino Lorber does. That would have to expire first and then they would have to pay for the rights.

Looks like I'll have to live without it then, or pay the extortionate scalpers, thanks to Arrow and Rarewaves.

Whatever's going on with the "tariff hysteria" seems to be over in Germany anyway, as I can place a new order from JPC with the same cheap shipping as before. 8)
