The original HALLOWEEN has been released on DVD no less than three separate times (I think it's more than that) in various forms, and all I know is that the newest isn't necessarily the best in terms of features and transfer. The release I have is the 25th anniversary edition, but if there's a better set out there (especially in terms of picture quality), I'm more than willing to look for it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

The original 1998, 2-DVD Limited Edition of HALLOWEEN from Anchor Bay has a better transfer (supervised by Dean Cundey) than the 25th Anniversary on balance -- more correct (richer) color hues and a bit darker as memory serves. They released that transfer separately, and in fact it's still in print:

That version also has an Alan Howarth mixed 5.1 track. The supplements are better on the 25th Anniversary, but if you're just going for the movie, the original Anchor Bay release is still tops!
