Hi Andy
Any news on what Disney have done to A Muppet Christmas Carrol?
A recent post you mentioned it would be edited, is this the case, so we have to buy the 'delux special edition' release no doubt in a year or so!!

Andy,
I'm about to post the reviews...here's the sad news:
-The Director's Cut, with When Love is Gone, is Full-Screen Only
-The Theatrical Version is 16:9 Widescreen
Very, very disappointing indeed...the supplements are non existent as well (just a reprisal of the commentary from the previous DVD).
I know they shot other songs that were cut -- or at least one other song -- from my interview with Miles Goodman years back, so this is a big-time let-down...not to mention the fact that the DVD brags "EXTENDED FULL-SCREEN VERSION!" on the back packaging!!
The MUPPET MOVIE and GREAT MUPPET CAPER discs are basic reprisals of the Sony DVDs. The transfers are basically the same, so if you have the earlier discs, I'm sorry to report there's little reason to upgrade
Oh well, hopefully HD or Blu Ray will get them right...I really wanted more from Disney this time out.

Andy, I couldn't find a listing for the Muppet Show. However, it is available on Region 2.

It should be a crime to issue anything in full screen, ever.AndyDursin wrote:Andy,

Well, except for most movies made prior to the '60s, and TV shows...I still can't get over how many 4:3 TV series/mini-series have been cropped to 16:9 just because people have HDTVs!Q-BanditZ wrote:It should be a crime to issue anything in full screen, ever.AndyDursin wrote:Andy,

Ok, ya got me on that one. Definitely the exceptions! Those should be kept 4:3!
