SHARON STONE will direct BASIC INSTINCT 3 in Britain, the actress has revealed. The blonde star is keen to continue the franchise - following her return as CATHERINE TRAMELL in the recently released sequel - but wants to step behind the camera next time around. Stone, 48, says, "There's a script for the next part of the story - but I would like to direct it rather than star in it. "It will be filmed in the UK again as the setting is more intense and gritty."
For some strange reason I suddenly find myself thinking of the scenes in Downfall where, as Berlin is destroyed around him and the Russians mercilessly advance, old Adolf looks at Albert Speer's models of the new Berlin and talks about how they'll rebuild the city as a capital worthy of the thousand year Reich. I think SLIVER started it and then DIABOLIQUE and that Richard Gere turkey sealed it off...not to mention that John Cassavetes remake that made less than BASIC 2 did last weekend!
