Sounds like Fukunaga is trying to make the "ultimate Bond picture"...

"He's sort of a wounded animal, struggling with his role as a double-0".

Yeah, that's what I want to see -- James Bond contending with "male menopause".

I'm sure it will be slick and thrilling and appeal to a mass audience - just not to Bond fans.

Here's a "round table" discussion with the cast and director about the new film...

Craig says "It's about the relationships and about family".

I thought James Bond was about defeating the villain, saving the world and getting the girl. :?

Can't say I blame them, this virus is peaking or about to and it's very likely a lot of things -- especially outside the U.S. and across Europe where it's spreading much faster -- are going to be canceled, delayed or at the least partially impacted. If they're going to move the Olympics, you'd think this is probably a smart move on their part from a commercial standpoint.

This whole coronavirus thing is getting out of hand. The media is causing people to panic unnecessarily . I work for a health insurance company and have heard some interesting statistics coming from the head of my department. For example, the total number of worldwide cases of coronavirus right now is 92,818. The flu infects one billion people annually. Total worldwide deaths from coronavirus are 3,159. The flu kills 291,000 to 646,000. (The U.S. only has 12,000 to 61,000 flu related deaths each year.)

We made it through MERS and SARS. We'll make it through Corona. This is No Time To Panic.

Let's be honest. The hype would not exist if the last occupant of the Oval Office were still occupying it.

Well, sure, but if I were running the studio, I'd still do the same thing. They care about the bottom line and it's entirely possible audiences will be spooked in a few weeks when the amount of cases likely peaks in the U.S...and quite especially in Europe where they seem totally unable to prevent it from spreading. Wait until November and this whole thing is likely far behind in the rear view mirror.

My wife is the manager on the ortho floor at our local hospital so we hear a lot of things too...especially with RI already having had a myriad of cases because of a local HS school trip to Italy. Still she scoffs at the hysteria on NBC Nightly News and in many media outlets -- all designed not only to stoke fear but damage the administration. If you read the NY Times like my friend does every day, you'd think Trump is personally responsible for the spread.

And really, no, it is NOT that bad or deadly -- it's not the Zombie Apocalypse -- though if you have elderly parents with a pre-existing condition like my Dad, I would certainly stay away from the large massive public gathering until it blows over. Which it will, in time.

That time, though, isn't likely to be early April when the Bond movie is coming out -- so it's a smart move pushing it to November. Not to mention, if the film needs more work (which it might), it gives them the luxury of having an extra 6 months to fix it.

They should just dump it onto Amazon or Netflix!

Will be curious to see if other studios follow suit with their summer releases.

Could well happen. I would think they'd wait until we get closer and see where things are at. This Bond movie only being a month out, they don't have the luxury of waiting too long.

I too think the Coronavirus stuff is out of hand. I work in healthcare, and while I am fine with reasonable precautions and erring on the side of caution, it amazes me how big of an overreaction there tends to be when something like this hits. The media needs its story and they are largely responsible for the panic that has come on the heels of this. I am also sick of the political mess surrounding the virus.

I work peripherally in health care -- right now I drive a daily 275-mile route delivering meds to nursing homes. The homes have taken enormous precautions in regard to the flu, but none of them have even mentioned Coronavirus.

No question there is a political agenda driving this fear mongering -- not just with Coronavirus, but also "Climate Change" (or as it used to be called, before the recent spate of cold winters, "Global Warming").
