Tempted on Boys, because it's only five bucks, and Winona in her prime.

I'm not seeing much. If I do get anything it'd likely be three silents. "Phantom Of The Opera", "Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde" (Barrymore) and "The Sheikh" simply because they are regarded as silent classics.

Re: Kino Lorber - Lazy Hazy Crazy Summer Sale
I had to pick up several June titles (NARROW MARGIN, LAST VALLEY, MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS) because the PR guy at Kino forgot to send me review samples. I'll give him a pass because of the pandemic!
BOYS is a good pick-up for $5, I grabbed it during the last sale. It's not any good (I decided to pass on requesting it for review) and was cut to shreds, but it's one of the last Winona vehicles from her prime like you said MJ.

Is Kino's Phantom Of The Opera a good version to have?
Re: Kino Lorber - Lazy Hazy Crazy Summer Sale
I picked up:
Charley Varrick
Deep Rising
Oscar
Support Your Local Sheriff
Never Give a Sucker an Even Break
Not bad, came out to 10 bucks each!

Gave in on those three silent films I mentioned plus Mary, Queen of Scots. The Phantom I felt was necessary since it wasn't included in Universal's big monster film collection and I wouldn't feel comfortable looking at the 43 remake without a chance at seeing Chaney's version first. Barrymore's Jekyll can go on the shelf next to his Sherlock Holmes they also put out.

I haven't seen it, but apparently it's mostly quite similar to the older Image release with a lot of the same content. That I have seen and reviewed way back, it's a good one with a lot of different viewing options.Monterey Jack wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 2:23 pm Is Kino's Phantom Of The Opera a good version to have?
