The Hammer set is back to $72 at Amazon. No way that one was ever supposed to be anywhere near $14 lol

The Rita Hayworth set may not be an error. That one was priced in the $24 range so 50% off isn't that much of a stretch.

I just want the $11 Charlie's Angels box. That one was the real score in terms of MSRP value 8)

Well they cancelled my "Knight Rider" order and I think what' s happened here is this. If you ordered by credit card, they will cancel it. But if you ordered by Paypal as I did with the Hammer set, they will honor it because it's too late to go through the refund process there and would be too cumbersome. They already "have" the money whereas with a credit card order they don't have it and can halt the process.

Every one of the three orders I placed, about 10 items in all, was canceled, including one Imprint preorder that was bundled in, so clearly they are not messing around and just axing these. I did pay with PP, albeit a credit card.

It was obvious this was an error and it made sense they would not process these. Someone early on might get something processed that slipped through the cracks like MJ but that's about it.

Oh well onto the next one :)

Yep, all of my other DD orders were cancelled. Can't say I'm all that surprised, but still...rats. :( At least I got Knight Rider for $11 and change, so there's that. :)

As an apology they are now sending out $5 discounts to those whose orders were cancelled. But looking further I notice that all these titles that were impacted aren't showing up on their site (the ones I've checked at least). It may be that they decided they had to ship orders from their existing stock but once they were out of stock of an item, then they could go the cancellation route.

Received my Rita Hayworth set today, and it looks very nice. As I said before, Hayworth is an actress I'm almost totally unfamiliar with (save for her key role in The Shawshank Redemption :)), so for a buck a movie, this will be a great crash course in her career, even if a few are -- eep! -- musicals.

Doesn't sound like many titles were shipped. From the sounds of it MJ's Knight Rider was one of the few titles that went out. Nice to see them do a $5 coupon and they started a 15% off promo today also.

I reviewed it a couple of months back. I'm guessing you've seen LADY FROM SHANGHAI, if you haven't thats a really good 40s noir. Maybe one of the best. Some titles are more engaging than others but the Albert R. Broccoli produced FIRE DOWN BELOW with Jack Lemmon and Robert Mitchum isn't good but IS watchable as a curiosity item.

I got it too. "Salome" is the only title in the set I've seen before and that ranks as the worst of the Biblical 50s films since it laughably presents Salome as a good girl who was dancing to *save* John, which is idiotic.

In terms of her other body of work, I admit I haven't seen a lot. I probably saw "Circus World" multiple times in the days when I had my LD player and I've seen "Gilda" once but she's one of those actresses whose paths never seem to cross with me when I watch classic fare.

Used the "we screwed up" 15% coupon to pre-order the Aussie release of The Mothman Prophecies. With that just-over-$5 discount, plus $8.25 I had in my Paypal account, spent $22 and change for it, which is more than acceptable for a terrific horror movie I've wanted in HD for years. 8) I'll save the additional $5 coupon for another day.

Received today...four discs stacked on top of each other in two-disc cases. :x

And before Andy interjects with one of his "You can't scratch a BD...!" posts, I also received the 4K Spider-Man trilogy in one of those accordion sleeve cases, and the 4K disc for SM3 had some scuffs on it that I couldn't remove by polishing it with a soft cloth. :?

That's the Mill Creek method unfortunately. Same with Quantum Leap.

My Hammer set arrived so I got to take advantage of that mistake of theirs which is the only way I ever would have gotten that set.

MJ does it play or doesn't it? You are way too OCD about the packaging!!

Mill Creek is a budget label remember. I don't love stacking but at least they have little chance of breaking loose in transit. Its why stacking is preferred with multi disc sets now. I'd have thought you'd like the fact they wouldn't be sliding around or getting scratched coming out of sleeves!!
