GODFATHER TRILOGY 4K UHD Announced for March

#1 Post by AndyDursin »

Paramount finally announced the long awaited 4K UHD's of THE GODFATHER -- but if you want the non-CODA (Coppola's recut) of PART III, you'll need to pony up for the Limited Edition package, which is supposed to include both the theatrical cut of III (for the first time ever since its theatrical run I believe) and its subsequent re-cut for home video (in addition to the "CODA" version).

These Amazon prices are MSRP right now and will come down.

4K Standard edition (Godfather 1 & 2, Godfather III [Coda cut])

4K UHD Collector's (Godfather 1,2,3 with multiple cuts of the latter + Blu-Ray bonus disc)

Disc content is apparently the SAME in both releases so no need to go deluxe.

Great set but disappointed in the worst packaging of all being used here: cardboard slipcovers with jewel-case like plastic disc holders, meaning if they ever break, there's no way to replace them. As in, none. Haven't seen anyone do this in years, for good reason.

No, they're absolutely not better than sleeves. Your OCD about sleeves aside, this is the worst of the worst.
