Re: Who's all set for a "gritty" Zorro reboot...?
What a GREAT concept -- let's "Christopher Nolan-ize" Zorro and make it "dark and gritty." So basically, all the things that made MASK OF ZORRO so good -- a disarming, old-fashioned adventure with a romantic theme and gorgeous score -- will be thrown out the window.
More over, who wants to see this? LEGEND OF ZORRO was alright but it failed to muster any kind of commercial interest. Remove the name cast and what have you got? IMO Zorro isn't enough of a draw to appeal to today's audiences, especially younger ones, unless the treatment (cast, production, etc.) interests them. I'll be surprised if this actually gets made.

London. Greatest City in the world.

Can you hear the disgusting, grotesque Hans Zimmer score that will be in the film's soundtrack? Executives no doubt assume that because the Dark Knight movies made a mint, audiences want to see every hero's story retold in a "dark", "edgy" fashion. But you'd think they'd have learned something from Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, and more pointedly, The Lone Ranger!AndyDursin wrote:More over, who wants to see this?

I'm already bracing for the Zimmer-esque score.mkaroly wrote:Can you hear the disgusting, grotesque Hans Zimmer score that will be in the film's soundtrack? Lol...

It has to be better than "Zorro: The Gay Blade" with George Hamilton.Monterey Jack wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 11:57 pm https://people.com/tv/wilmer-valderrama ... ro-series/

I gotta admit, Zorro the Gay Blade is a massive guilty pleasure for me. Lol...it is an awful film but I laugh every time I watch it, mostly because of the Esteban (Rob Leibman).
