If nothing else, Robbie will bring new meaning to the term "Pirate's Booty". :)

Oops, sorry, can't say that anymore, it's sexist...!

That's ok. Before the end of the month the whole POTC franchise will probably be withdrawn for being sexist, or racist, or for some other social transgression yet to be invented.

Hell, they already ruined the ride at Disneyland and WDW by making it Woke and PC. Why shouldn't I be surprised?

It's also amazing they want to be so woke they advertise the female writer assigned to it, even though she just worked on a bonafide bomb like BIRDS OF PREY.

...and, of course, if you point out the hypocrisy of hiring a writer or director for a female-driven movie solely based on what they have between their legs, you get branded as a vile sexist pig. :? Same thing with insisting that a "black" movie have a black filmmaker, or that an animated character must have a voice actor the exact same ethnicity as the character they're playing.

If Amistad were made today, 100% guaranteed it would be a black filmmaker doing it, and it wouldn't be nearly as artful and emotionally satisfying as what white, Jewish director Steven Spielberg brought to the material.

"Who cares if the woman just wrote a POS, she's a WOMAN and it doesn't matter that she's partially responsible for making crap!" - Disney in 2020

Flat out absurd. And, as far as AMISTAD goes, frankly, it's racist itself to suggest ANYONE of a certain ethnic background instantly is more aware/knowledgeable about its subject than anyone else when making a piece of art. Or that a piece of art with a certain subject is only "relevant" if it is made by an individual of a certain race. I mean, just think about that for a second.

It's like the mob is RE-ESTABLISHING segregation. And it's insane.

What are we going to do next, destroy all the movies Jews made in Hollywood about Christians or Blacks?

Back in the day Spike Lee was up Spielberg's ass about how slavery was a subject matter no white filmmaker should be "allowed' to tackle, and it's like, a JEWISH filmmaker certainly has first-hand knowledge of prejudice and subjugation...the Holocaust, maybe? Should Lee not have been allowed to make Inside Man because a popcorn heist thriller wasn't a specifically "black" subject matter, and most of he film's cast was white? If you suggested that, there would have been cries of outrage, but the other way around, filmmakers have to lay back and meekly accept it, the same way today that store owners have to suck it up when rampaging mobs destroy and loot their property because the government doesn't have the balls to step in and put an end to it. Sorry, but this is NOT "doing the right thing".

Dead On Arrival:
“We had an idea and we were developing it for a while, ages ago, to have more of a female-led—not totally female-led, but just a different kind of story—which we thought would’ve been really cool,” Robbie said, “but I guess they don’t want to do it.”

Guess the "all feminism, all the time" thing is no longer commercially viable for Disney. They even back off from the "girl power" aspect of Black Panther 2 with a mid-credits sequence that assuages guys that BP won't be a girl forever.

The Woke is getting purged from Disney's veins, and a lot of projects are gonna get caught in the crossfire. To which I say, "Good". :)
