I was there for ICEMAN on opening day in 3rd grade...decent movie with a lousy ending.
SWING SHIFT was allegedly much better in the directors original cut before Goldie recut and reshot it. Fortunately I found that workprint online in a 7 year old Google Drive link!

No one's showing Splash or Romancing the Stone?
Slim pickens...though some great stuff was only weeks away -- Ghostbusters, The Natural, Gremlins, The Bounty.
Tho the most movies I was most eagerly awaiting that summer -- Star Trek III and Temple of Doom -- were letdowns.

That chain didn't have the rights to SPLASH and ROMANCING THE STONE as they would've still been in theaters a month after they opened. We had 2 chains locally back then (Showcase and General Cinema -- I am pretty certain the latter had Disney titles and ROMANCING THE STONE too).
April was kind of a dead month at times though!
