Weekend Box Office - Memorial Day Edition - Not Exactly The Days of Yore
Unofficial "start of summer" at the movies sees THE LITTLE MERMAID with an underwhelming (given $80 mil promo marketing campaign and expectations) start. Meanwhile it looks like the world has finally had enough of the FAST franchise as FAST X bombed in its 2nd weekend.

On a side note -- Pixar's new effort has already been panned, called a "misfire" even by Variety:

Glad to see Mermaid underperforming (especially overseas), because we'll never be free of these goddamn remakes until they stop pulling in a billion worldwide.
Also insane that, in week EIGHT of release, Super Mario Bros. (which is already available on VOD) only fell 29% at the box office.
