Re: This Week's Aisle Seat - Holiday Gift Guide Part 2
Thumbs down on the fact that Paramount didn't take advantage of Blu-Ray to fix the butchery they did on "The Odd Couple" (specifically Seasons 3-5. Season 1 was free and clear and Season 2 had only one minor piece of background music replaced) Some of the stuff they cut was public domain for goodness sake! It was just a case of them reacting with wholesale butchery out of fear and in the process a lot of great memorable comedy bits I grew up with got lost and probably forever.
One episode that was butchered "I Gotta Be Me" was released restored on Via Vision's release of the two Odd Couple movies which had 10 bonus episodes from the series, but that was the only one that had been butchered originally that got fixed because this was an Aussie release (but thankfully region free).
