This is so bad I can't even raise my remote to turn it on, not even as junk in the background while I do this nutty "AI training" crap I'm doing on the side.

I can't even "hate watch" most Disney stuff now. I've become completely numbed. It's like that scene in The Wrestler where Evan Rachel Wood says to dad Mickey Rourke, "I don't love you, I don't hate you...I feel nothing."AndyDursin wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 12:48 pm This is so bad I can't even raise my remote to turn it on, not even as junk in the background while I do this nutty "AI training" crap I'm doing on the side.

The Star Wars franchise for me does not exist beyond the original trilogy cuts. Period. And honestly, there are times I would gladly restrict it to just the first film only and before the innocence was shattered with "I am your Father!" and "Leia is my sister" because that to me marked the first poisonous seeds introduced into the storytelling. I like enough of ESB and ROTJ to accept the three movies as a whole but nothing else.

Notable coming from a black actor...

Clearly, THE ACOLYTE was made for the sweaty fat male fanbase, as exhibited by this marketing that pooped up on my Facebook feed. I call this show THE ACOLYTIC CONVERTER.

Indeed,

And I thought hearing a character say "Sh!t" on Andor was inappropriate for a Star Wars production...

Full frontal male nudity for these people - good.
Leia metal bikini in ROTJ for them - bad.
The Dark Side has triumphed.

Only the MALE Gaze is demonized in this day and age.

This is just Disney in a nutshell. They bought Lucasfilm, they've devalued if not right outright destroyed its two properties of note (three if you want to count WILLOW), just as they have other created IP's they purchased.
Their solution is always this -- take something that already exists and make it again. Take a piece of animation and turn it live-action. Or change the color of the lead. It's always the same formula, tried and true corporate "entertainment," aimed at a globalist market, taking few if no creative chances and relying on the same audience to keep turning up and supporting it.
They want to make a live-action CLONE WARS, have at it. I don't want to support it with my dollars and since Theo doesn't care about STAR WARS at all (hallelujah!) I won't have to.
