Doesn't this music choice scream Star Wars...?

^^ I guess it hasn't dawned on them that George Lucas could have hired a pop group to score original film, but went for something more timeless (and substantial) instead.
None of those shows are Star Wars as far as I'm concerned. They're just generic action shows with TIE fighters and blasters.

Our generation's BIG SCREEN science fiction/fantasy epic, reduced to a non-stop deluge of streaming slop. 007 is next...!

Sure sounds like they captured the original film's spirit of fun and adventure!Monterey Jack wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 10:59 am Sounds like a lot of swashbuckling, Saturday matinee fun...!![]()

Like I've said before, if this is "Star Wars for adults", stick a pacifier in my mouth.

It drives me crazy that some people associate things like fun, hope, adventure and optimism with childishness while doom, despair, darkness and violence are equivalent to being an adult. And it's especially aggravating when these same people insist on taking stories typically associated with positive elements and turn them dark 'n' gritty all in an attempt to appear more "mature."
BTW, I liked Andor a bit more than some of you but still felt like the dark and so called "realistic" aspects of the show would have been better suited to something besides Star Wars.

Re: Andor
I watched Superman: The Movie again recently in tribute to Gene Hackman (the 4K transfer is lovely), and had the biggest smile on my face the whole time. I don't think I've sat down to watch it since the DVD boxed set almost 20 years ago, but it's aged like fine wine. Truly romantic, upbeat, and "corny" in the best possible way. We need more of...jkholm wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 6:23 pm

It's ludicrous reading Andor fanboys trying to justify this. This was NEVER the appeal of Star Wars.AndyDursin wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 9:24 pm Oh and theyre getting into "undocumented" crap too? What a joke.

"The show is so good. So good! Like the dream come true of a Star Wars kid who grew up and wanted serious adult drama set in that world of 1977."

How about watching something that's ACTUALLY FOR ADULTS, instead of jamming adult rhetoric and politics into something that was always intended to be Saturday matinee fare for children?
