I guess Williams classic theme has too many notes for people nowadays. Ottman removed some from the love theme, now this one does the same thing to another Superman theme!

There is seriously no buzz whatsoever going for this movie. Has anyone even seen a clip of Lois Lane talking in this film? Does it even matter?

Doomcock's rumored plot description sounds like nobody learned anything from the failure of SUPERMAN IV. Seriously, another pretentious MESSAGE MOVIE in the guise of a Superman movie? My god why can't they just MAKE A SUPERMAN MOVIE with action and fun. Just ridiculous, I hope this is just a ruse and the movie somehow looks better than it does...but this is looking like a superhero fail of a summer between this and FANTASTIC 4.

John Williams' themes repurposed in the style of Hans Zimmer. That's swell.

And ok, maybe that music was just cobbled together for the trailer -- but it doesn't show respect for John Williams' glorious original -- which I consider the best score ever written. And it makes me want to run the other way.

Isn't it so predictable too? The SLOW DOWN of the original theme -- either that or a piano "tinkle" -- meant to evoke nostalgic memories of something this new project doesn't have going for it.

It's become a complete trailer cliche, in addition to the "momentum" all of these trailers have -- they're all cut nearly EXACTLY alike.

The Jurassic World: Rebirth trailer's like that, ending with a few token, tinkly notes of the John Williams theme at the end, when there's nothing in the trailer that has a whiff of the awe and wonder that Spielberg brought to the original. :? It's like they want to glom onto a previous generation's nostalgia, but there's no composer working these days who knows how to compose proper music, instead of just falling asleep on their sequencer and hiring a bunch of underlings to "arrange" the drones into a faint semblance of a melody.

Echoing how lame this looks...
After today’s reveal of the “Superman” runtime, the real story might be what’s happening behind the scenes. I started asking around, and uncovered that the road to release has been anything but smooth for DC Studios’ flagship reboot.

Tensions are high at Warner Bros., where CEO David Zaslav and DC Studios leads James Gunn and Peter Safran are scrutinizing every frame to avoid another franchise misfire.

Sources close to the production say the film received a mixed reception at earlier test screening, triggering a cascade of changes. Gunn’s original cut apparently leaned heavier on humor—something the execs weren’t entirely sold on. In response, several comedic beats were cut, trimming down both tone and runtime.

More intriguingly, one of the film’s editors was quietly removed mid-process, leading to a slight reworking of the film’s structure. This was somewhat of a “tweak,” and signaled a slight shift in how the story was being presented. Some key sequences were shuffled, and minor scenes were added during recent reshoots.

The music department wasn’t spared either. A second composer was brought in late in the game to reshape the score, suggesting the tone may have been in flux as recently as a few weeks ago. It’s all part of what one insider described as a “slight course correction.”

Altogether, about 25 minutes of footage has been trimmed from earlier versions, giving the final cut a leaner feel. The adjustments hint at a studio anxious to get it right—especially with this being the first major installment in the rebooted DC Universe.

The last test screening is set to happen this week. Whether these eleventh-hour changes will pay off remains to be seen, but there is a tad more confidence now that the finished product, which is officially in the can, turns out to be a great film.

It may suck, but at least it won't be an interminable slog like The Final Reckoning...

Honestly a 2 hour run time has zero bearing on whether the movie is good or not.

The only time its ever mattered in my lifetime is when you see a movie running 90 minutes or less and its something like SUPERMAN IV you knew it was going to be terrible from that fact alone.

The banter was better on Lois and Clark. Back in '93.
