I understand why Thomas Newman was chosen for the last two Bond movies (being Sam Mendes' pet composer), but it's long past time they brought back Arnold. Make Craig's last Bond film as "old-school" and fun as possible.

I get it too but Newman's scores were a massive disappointment. Weak and shockingly bland.

The "Bond Sound" is a hugely integral element to the series, especially with this being an Anniversary film, it SHOULD have a score written by someone who "gets it".

Dan looks none too happy lol.

Pretty fragmented trailer, in keeping with the movie's production. Throw a bunch of explosions in, pump up the sound...we know the drill.

Could be another SPECTRE, or worse...but it's interesting it's another direct sequel, which in this instance, doesn't really play in its favor given how weak that film was.

I love that the Aston Martin DB5 is back -- guns blazing and all (though I suspect it is only featured briefly).

I have to be honest, I really like the idea of Bond's replacement being a female agent assigned his original number -- as long as it isn't like Mad Max Fury Road, where the "side kick" has as much (or more) screen time than the supposed "star".

Some ideas we've seen before -- M asking "Where is 007?" (which is how OHMSS and Skyfall both begin), and a motorcycle chase over ancient stone ramparts (as in Skyfall).

I get a sense that this is another "life crisis" story which attempts to be a "deep exploration" of Bond's character. That kind of thing is fine once every few decades -- i.e. OHMSS and Skyfall) but not all the time.

Clearly, they're looking to OHMSS and Skyfall for inspiration.

And a drone shot looking down on a snowy forest? How many times have we seen that -- in just the past five years?

Overall it looks like a pretty standard fair, but with "twists" (the female 007, the Bond girl with a dark secret) thrown in to try and "shake things up".

They certainly look to be avoiding "woke" lines in this trailer and the "replacement" is given a short amount of promotion time -- to a degree where I'm guessing they were worried about the reception they've gotten, especially where older fans of the series (and the series has LOTS of older fans) would be put off. Is that indicative of the whole movie's tone, or just something they're keeping out of the trailer? Will be interesting to see.

Either way, I thoroughly disliked SPECTRE, absolute waste of time -- and boring as bleep. At least this looks like it's taking place in the sunlight...but I agree, the "Bond has a crisis" story line is played out. We used to just get cool standalone movies with Bond -- in every one of these Craig movies, he needs a psychiatrist!

Also: bored already with Waltz's Blofeld as a Hannibal Lector wannabe. Cliched.

And again like Skyfall, we have a scene with Bond confronting the "master criminal" who is encased in a glass booth.

I just am dumbfounded that they really seemed to bring things to an END in SPECTRE -- there is no other interpretation that works for that ending -- only to now negate it with this film's plot.

This is basically Craig's A VIEW TO A KILL, and he looks quite terrible in this trailer too (all puffy and "old", like he was sitting in the sun too long).

Image

He's wrinkled, the skin below his chin is sagging -- I don't know what kind of lifestyle Craig leads, but he looks like a man in his late 60s.
