This was delightful. Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves slip back into their roles effortlessly, and Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine make for a most-winning pair as Bill & Ted's twentysomething daughters (the latter, in particular, nails Reeves' genially dazed mannerisms and vocal patterns). It's sweet, goofy, consistently amusing and cleverly structured. It also doesn't overdose on non-stop Fanservice callbacks like the mediocre Jay & Silent Bob Reboot did, finding the right narrative groove to keep things consistently moving (with B&T making gradual leaps into the future trying to swipe the song that will unite the universe and timeline in harmonious convergence from their increasingly unsuccessful and bitter future "Us-es" as their daughters recruit a band consisting of musicians of historical significance). While I didn't laugh out loud as much as I'd hoped, I was smiling and chuckling throughout, and in these uncertain times, the message of "be excellent, to each other" is even more resonant. It ends a bit too abruptly (stick through those credits), but this is a charming "legacy sequel" that fans of the series will enjoy greatly. Station...!!!
