Re: PROMETHEUS - Ridley Scott's "ALIEN" Prequel - Leaked Pho
Fairly interesting interview with Scott --

Talks about working again with HR Giger, how the aliens won't be making an appearance (not sure I believe that!), Noomi's casting and other interesting bits.

http://www.alienprequelnews.com/2011/12 ... rsday.htmlApple has added a page for Prometheus in its iTunes Movie Trailers section.
Unfortunately the trailer hasn't been added yet, but there is a 30 second teaser for the trailer now on-line.
The 30 second teaser features various behind the scenes clips with a voice over by Ridley Scott, and states that an exclusive first look of the trailer will be on iTunes this Thursday, December 22nd.
Followed by:

and a tantalizing group of stills from both behind and in front of the camera e.g.

I'm stoked!
If you're watching carefully you can even see the Space Jockey chair rising out of the ground and it looks just like it did in Alien.

I think I'll watch this trailer a few more times instead of going out to see anything playing in theaters!

I couldn't care less about another another ponderous Batman sequel or an "Elder Scrolls"-esque adaptation of The Hobbit, but THIS movie is what has me excited about going to the cinema!

Yes exactly Paul! Like I said above, what a shame it took him so long to get back to making this type of picture.Paul MacLean wrote:I couldn't care less about another another ponderous Batman sequel or an "Elder Scrolls"-esque adaptation of The Hobbit, but THIS movie is what has me excited about going to the cinema!

Heh, the ironic thing with this statement is: The Elder Scrolls games get more of what I personally feel like would be be closer to Tolkien's LOTR than Jackson's movies do in terms of tone and approach.Paul MacLean wrote:I couldn't care less about another another ponderous Batman sequel or an "Elder Scrolls"-esque adaptation of The Hobbit, but THIS movie is what has me excited about going to the cinema!

The music in the Elder Scrolls games is MUCH better than Howard Shore's scores as well.Eric W. wrote:Heh, the ironic thing with this statement is: The Elder Scrolls games get more of what I personally feel like would be be closer to Tolkien's LOTR than Jackson's movies do in terms of tone and approach.Paul MacLean wrote:I couldn't care less about another another ponderous Batman sequel or an "Elder Scrolls"-esque adaptation of The Hobbit, but THIS movie is what has me excited about going to the cinema!

By epic leagues. Anything Jeremy Soule has ever done is leagues better than anything Shore has ever done and a lot of that music sounds more like what I would have figured LOTR would sound like, quite frankly.AndyDursin wrote:

PROMETHEUS - oh my gosh...lol...June can't come quickly enough. I'm already thinking of who I want to invite to see it with me and where I want to go!!!! Lol....VERY excited.
DARK KNIGHT - not sold on Anne Hathaway...but I'm excited for that one as well.
ELDER SCROLLS - level 36, 100 sneak and 75 archery. 1/3 of the way through the main quest, spending all my time doing side missions right now. Storing up my dragon souls but need to find more dragon words. What an amazing game.

Image in the LA Times gives off a VERY strong "Alien" vibe...
Damon Lindelof also has some comments in there about how the size of the film was meant to evoke LAWRENCE OF ARABIA. This could be a film that makes good use of 3-D too.

I'm starting to think this will be the biggest movie of 2012 we're looking at.
