WTF!

I'm sure that has been covered before, but why doesn't Speilberg do Commentary for any of his films DVD releases? Seriously, I just saw that they re-released the first 3 INDIANA JONES films and feel that this would have been a great opportunity to upgrade the content from the first box set from a few years back with Lucas and Speilberg sitting back and talking about the films. I would have been more than tempted to "double dip" this time around had they added this much desirable feature.

I'm not sure, but I don't think Spielberg does commentaries because his DVD releases contain in-depth "making of" features that explain everything....including the Indiana Jones DVDs (at least the first time around with the 4th DVD in the set). I have to admit that I would be intrigued by a SS commentary track over top of the movie, but I sincerely doubt we'll ever see that.

Spielberg doesn't "do" commentaries...never has and apparently never will.

As Michael mentioned that's why he hires Laurent Bouzereau to make these long documentaries instead. Of course, that long INDY documentary is only in the prior box-set and not this one!

shame that Universal has yet to put the complete Jaws documentary on any dvd release.

these stupid cut & paste jobs are crazy when they sit on the entire thing!

The documentary was released in full on the second DVD release, minus only the little transitional bumpers, and to me that wasn't all that important.

I kind of missed the transitional bumpers, because it broke it up a little bit. It WAS a little too long, but I'd rather have all the footage on there than not.

What irked me a lot more was that they STILL didn't include all the deleted scenes that were on the laserdisc! (including the bit where Quint's first mate quits on him).

That's odd because I can remember all the deleted scenes being included. It was a set of trailers that weren't carried over which was all I remember missing (but those trailers were on the first DVD release, which is why I still have that!)

AFAIK, all of the deleted scenes from the laserdisc were included on the 30th anniversary release. The only thing missing were the trailers and TV spots (a shame).

Yep, I got it right back in 2005 as it turns out.

Too many movies, DVDs and re-issues -- as the years go on your mind just turns to mush!
