DEATHLINE aka RAW MEAT here in the US is one of those sleepers I'd been looking for for YEARS. I stumbled on it some time ago, and I was not disappointed (because I knew so little about it, just enough to be intrigued). Terrific flick for people like me who like movies that take place in abandoned buildings, tunnels, etc.

Donald Pleasance was a pleasant surprise--I've always thought he was fine but not one of the greats, but he's a real pleasure in this. I wish more screenwriters could write humorous CHARACTERS instead of just inserting one-liners.

The only disappointment for me is that Christopher Lee shows up, and his character would have made a great partner for Pleasance--but he's only in a glorified cameo.

So I guess I'm gonna have to buy Space:1999 again. Maybe my brother will want my old DVDs.

I believe Network have plans to release the second season. Hopefully, they will give it the same treatment.

Danger Man

The Adventurer was an ITC Entertainment TV adventure series created by Dennis Spooner that ran for one season from 1972 to 1973. It premiered in the UK on 29 September 1972.

The show starred Gene Barry as Gene Bradley, a government agent of independent means who poses as a glamourous American movie star. A Region 2 DVD release of the show is available from Network DVD, which features interviews with Morse, Damon and Schell. Morse nicely sums up the series in the extras on the Network DVD release of the show: "It wasn't the worst show ever made, but it certainly wasn't the best!"

Mystery and Imagination.


This highly acclaimed anthology series presented a selection of Gothic tales by major 19th century writers. Among the adapted works featured in this collection are Robert Louis Stevenson’s nihilistic The Suicide Club, Sheridan le Fanu’s Uncle Silas, Bram Stoker’s classic Dracula and a commendably faithful adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. A distinguished cast includes Ian Holm (Chariots of Fire), Denholm Elliot (Indiana Jones), Patrick Mower (Callan) and Freddie Jones (The Elephant Man), who gives an astonishing performance as the demented barber, Sweeney Todd.
