Re: RIP Blake Edwards
More and more the names from the vanished era of filmmaking leave us.
RIP.
RIP.
Re: RIP Blake Edwards
For the first 4 Pink Panther films, OPERATION PETTICOAT, BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S (with the possible exception of MIckey Rooney's character-hideous), DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES, 10, VICTOR/VICTORIA, S. O. B., THE GREAT RACE, the PETER GUNN TV series and his writing on scripts like OPERATION MAD BALL, this man deserves to be ranked among the best filmmakers of the latter half of the 20th century.
Sleep well, and say hello to Peter, Jack, Hank and the guys from S. O. B. for us.

Edwards also proved himself a fine suspense director with 1962's taut Experiment In Terror (boasting an eerie Henry Mancini score).
