...Harvey and Bob have no involvement in RAMBO IV, which is fine by me. Production starts up this spring.

I'd really have been stoked for this (yes, I plead guilty) had Jerry Goldsmith not passed away I can't imagine who will be doing the music...unless he brings Bill Conti along with him to rework some of Jerry's themes. (That may be the best option, no?).

I will NOT stand for any Hans Zimmer clone writing a lame, modern "action score" for this movie!!

The franchise that drew "First Blood" is back with a fourth installment.

Millennium Films in conjunction with Emmett/Furla Films and Equity Pictures are partnering on a $50 million "Rambo IV." Sylvester Stallone is attached to star.

The story centers on former Vietnam vet John Rambo, who is living a reclusive life back home in the U.S. But when a girl goes missing, he is forced to abandon his quiet lifestyle and take justice into his own hands.

No director is attached, and the screenplay is in the early stages.

I've heard so many would-be plotlines for this movie (Rambo vs. Al Qaeda chief among them), but what would appeal to me most is a return to the primal aspects of the original. Do it smaller, more intimate than the sequels. If there's a shred of truth to this missing girl bit and it has more to do with a personal story than an international war, then I'm all for it.

I'll miss Goldsmith, too.

That's exactly the intention of the movie Mike. According to Stallone they're trying to do a gritty but "intimate" action movie more along the lines of the original FIRST BLOOD. The days of the one-man war machine are done, he said.

Thus, it sounds like it might have some potential...and call me crazy but I'm psyching myself up for the RAMBO IV/ROCKY VI combo in 2007!!

This is ridiculous. What? Is Stallone going to roll out in a wheelchair for this? I exaggerate, of course, but c'mon!

Conti would be a great choice to dust off do rework some of Jerry's themes and take off.

I hope we get a good score out of this. That's about all I can realistically hope for from this.

Possibly true, but I have to say this: I would pay to see it. So little out there would make me go to the cinema right now, but if the movie turned out to be halfway decent, I would pay to see it.

I really believe Conti reworking Goldsmith's themes would be the best thing that could happen for the soundtrack, but we'll see what transpires.
