700+ theaters over Labor Day weekend for the original GHOSTBUSTERS -- plus a new 30th Anniversary Blu-Ray and the debut of the sadly disappointing 1989 sequel in HD as well on 9/16:

I'll definitely be up for both...Ghostbusters II is still underrated in my opinion. Hopefully they'll be able to put a lot of the deleted scenes on the disc.

For me, II is painfully unfunny outside of the first 15 minutes, while the plot is a hackneyed retread of the original. And don't get me started on Peter MacNicol...

Looks like a good set though, I'm in :)

I'm a little gun shy about this GHOSTBUSTERS release. The picture quality of the original Blu was a travesty, but just recently they did a new 4K transfer that supposedly was a big improvement. Can't tell for sure if it's the same transfer for this release but it sounds like it. So I guess the question is, did the 4K transfer really do right by the film?

The 4K disc is much improved. I would highly recommend it -- except for the fact this new BD is supposedly the same master, so I'd just hold off. That weird noise from the 1st disc was corrected in it.
