FREEDOMLAND: Junk of The Month

As if the movie's twist wasn't obvious from watching the trailer last year, it seems we have a new candidate for Worst Film of 2006 already.
After AMERICA'S SWEETHEARTS couldn't Hollywood have passed a law prohibiting Joe Roth from ever directing again? Or how about a film where Julianne Moore DOESN'T lose her kids?
Apparently all the acting is beyond bad, with the NY Times proclaiming Moore "here delivers one of the few authentically awful performances of her career. Wildly miscast as a grammatically challenged former drug addict, the actress wanders through much of the movie in a blanked-out daze, pausing only to deliver a morsel of exposition and, in one scene, a soliloquy in which she explains how she ain't done nothing right in her life but had this kid."
Looks like we might have a ready-made Golden Turkey for grilling on DVD in, oh, about 60 days!
