LOL!!

I remember being how psyched I was when that show debuted on TV (I must have been 10), and then being so utterly crushed because it was so bad.

It says something because AIRWOLF was a distinct rip-off (at least initially) of BLUE THUNDER and debuted at the exact same time (if I'm correct), but the show was a lot better produced and had a much longer shelf life.

Airwolf was just so cool. Well, until the awful fourth season Most Airwolf fans tend to ignore this season. From what I've read, most if not all of the footage of Airwolf in flight was recycled from the original series.

The news of this only makes me ask one thing. WHY? Sony has been sitting on its butt in terms of proceeding further with the second season of so many better series, that it frankly insults my intelligence to think that this forgettable thing from way back is going to have its entire run represented on DVD, but Sony still won't do year 2 of Barney Miller or announce year 2 of Rat Patrol to complete that show's run.

Not to mention The Larry Sanders Show...

I remember how numbingly awful a letdown it was when it premiered over here - I don't think the BBC even completed the run but junked it early. Aside from casting the guy from Police Academy, you could tell this one wasn't going to work when it became apparent that they'd completely reversed the premise of the movie - instead of the Blue Thunder being a bad. bad thing, it was suddenly a really, really good thing.

In fairness, having it as something bad wouldn't have been a sustainable premise for a regular series, so I can't fault them on that. It's flaws came from other areas, especially the gimmick of thinking that Dick Butkus and Bubba Smith could do anything other than mildly amusing Miller Lite commercials together.
