not that bad... but wasn't it supposed to be more realistic this time? well, looks pretty much like the usual bond-blows-everything-up-stuff...

as I hate Daniel Craig and Eva Green is not my cup of tea either, I doubt I will watch it...

I hope the movie is better than the notices from folks who claimed to have read the script and such. Bond as a somewhat emotionally unstable loner who didn't fit in and looks at M as a mother figure? Sheesh, IF that's what we get, it's not the kind of "resurrection" I'd be hoping for as a Bond fan.

I do admit Eva Green does nothing for me at all from an attractiveness standpoint, but the teaser itself looks fairly promising...I think Craig can do a solid job more along the lines of Dalton, which for me isn't a bad thing.

Looks good to me. Very good.

I wouldn't put too much faith in those script reviews - reportedly much of Haggis' rewrite was rejected, and it remains to be seen whether enough will remain for him to get a screen credit. the mother figure thing seems pure Haggis, although the surly loner is straight out of the novels, where Bond is an arrogant bastard who gradually falls to pieces over the run of the series just as Fleming himself did.

One thing is sure - it looks more old school, let's do it for real instead of CGI, which is a step in the right direction.

I'm with you, Carlson. I wasn't interested at all before seeing the teaser but now I'm a believer. My favorite shot was that quick clip in the beginning of Bond beating the guy up in the bathroom. Looked more BOURNE than BOND (which in recent years is a good thing).

One thing it does make clear is why Brosnan needed to be replaced. He was so flabby, out of shape and accident prone on the last film that even if he weren't so greedy and reputedly extremely unpleasant to work with, there's no way you could picture him doing half of those action scenes. Maybe at the time of GoldenEye, but definitely not now.

I am very excited about this film after seeing the trailer. I am eagerly anticipating its release.

The plot thickens.

Some very interesting hints emerging from Broccoli and Wilson. A month or so ago, Broccoli said the next Bond would follow on from CR and be a semi-sequel (presumably in the way that From Russia With Love was a sequel, with SPECTRE setting up Bond as revenge for the death of Dr No). Now Wilson has been hinting that the next Bond after CR will be released in 2007, that some scenes may have been shot already by Campbell (who would presumably be returning), and, most promisingly of all, that it may be The Property of a Lady - the Bond film that was going to be Dalton's third before all the legal problems stalled the series, and widely rumoured to be the best of the unfilmed Bond scripts.

The prospect of Campbell doing two Bonds back-to-back is the most surprising: Campbell turned down offers to work again with Brosnan.

Of course, that could all be hot air, but if it isn't...

The English version of the trailer is out there now, too. Does look promising, and I like what I've seen of Craig.

That's good stuff Trevor. Is the McClory/Thunderball stuff the reason we haven't seen SPECTRE again? Now that it's ironed out and Sony owns it all (apparently) can they go back to those sort of plots and use them as villains?

I doubt we'll see SPECTRE again - too many open wounds there even though the lawsuits are over. As it is, EON are probably kicking themselves for paying $2.5m to Sony for the rights back in 1999 only to end up in partnership with them anyway (in brief, Sony were ordered to pay $5m damages to EON and MGM/UA: instead of cash, they offered to sell all rights in Casino Royale for $10m, with the outstanding $5m split 50-50 between EON and MGM/UA).

However, they are going down a similar route. While LeChiffre no longer works for SMERSH, the terrorist organisation he works for will become a recurring SPECTRE-like presence in the series. I guess they think that post-Austin Powers, no-one's going to take a bald guy in a Nehru jacket stroking his pussy seriously anymore - can't think why!
