That was why I mentioned what I mentioned last week about losing my lunch out of various ports.

I saw this movie in the theater in 1988 and was compelled to watch it again when my dad rented it on VHS. The "over-acting" between Steiger and Aiello (over-the-top cursing that seemed unnatural), the oddball relationship between Kline and ex-wife Sarandon by way of a weird home-cooked Oysters dinner, strange tone-twists as the movie progress from about midway through and ultimate resolution with another nameless/faceless killer (with practically the entire cast waiting outside after the police arrives) overshadowed this nutty movie that I wanted to so desperately like, because of the off-beat ensemble. Instead, some of the off-beat ensemble works against itself.

And if I remember correctly, didn't Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio show off her boobs in one scene with Kline?

She did indeed! Kline himself is so odd in this movie, he seems to start off with a terrible NYC accent, then gives up and moves onto something broader in the second half.

Very, very odd! Yet I can't help but enjoy it just the same. Faye Grant even appears as a victim early on.

BTW not that anyone will buy it, but the KL Blu-Ray in the US is worthless because of the mono sound -- the German BD I imported is nice full stereo with a Hamlisch score that should've been released at some point.

Didn't KL release this back in 2016 or was that one for the German market?

Yeah, Kino Lorber did release it in 2016 but in mono inexplicably. I bought a German release from NSM that came out a couple of years ago, looks better and is in stereo.
