Box Office Weekend 6/28 - F9 Races to "Pandemic Record" Weekend
Deadline's cheery recap analysis seems to be missing the point -- that two years ago, when this movie was supposed to open, it would've done 2X the business if not more.

Still, it's an encouraging sign.
Black Widow might make it to $100 million in a few weeks...or, it could if it weren't also premiering on Disney+ at the same time.

I severely doubt BLACK WIDOW is getting to $100 million, not based on the tracking I've seen.
Overall, I need to see more before I'd be encouraged about the movies in general. What we've seen so far is pretty much expected: these pre-fab international blockbusters can get people back to the theater, but a fraction of their former pace. There's still no real market there -- look at all the weekends when there hasn't been a new "name brand" IP and it's like the bottom has still dropped out.

I'm sitting on 14 free movie passes to the Alamo and 20 bucks in free food too (we've been crushing it at Alamo trivia night for the past few months!)
....now there just needs to be something worth seeing! I guess Black Widow and maybe Jungle Cruise will be the first big movies I care to see.

That's the problem. I've got stacks of ticket vouchers sitting in my drawer, and nothing remotely I want to see opening in the next few weeks (or possibly months).

I can't wait to use my stack of Regal Cinema Gift Cards! There must be at least $500 ready to spend!

Indeed,
