Looks like Criterion is the only label left that can still get a Fox title pried out from Disney, as they have announced "Flight Of The Phoenix" for March 22.

I bought the UK release a while back and the fact it didn't trickle out then makes me think this was a deal they secured years ago, sort of like the Salkind/Lester MUSKETEERS which they are also sitting on.

Re: Criterion To Release "Flight Of The Phoenix"
Got my copy yesterday and went through the film. Looked very good overall. The extras were a bit spartan (an interview discussing Aldrich and another feature on Stewart's history as a pilot) but a commentary probably wouldn't have added too much.
In all the times I've seen this film though, I can never for the life of me figure out how Ian Bannen got a Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for a part that isn't very significant. He just happens to be there and other than cracking some jokes he isn't even one of the more distinctive supporting characters in the film.
