Excited! Underrated film with gorgeous African scenery and a killer Goldsmith score. Just hope the transfer is better than most of the recent Paramount catalogue Blus...

Re: Ghost & The Darkness coming to Blu
There shouldn't be an issue with the transfer -- the master on streaming as it stands is fine, I'll take that and not have to deal with the German on screen titles from that Blu-Ray I imported years back.
Personally I'd rather have a Super 35 movie in full 1.85 but it's still good. Plus the price will be right.
Edit - damn it it's Shout Factory. I'd rather have a $10 Paramount catalog release than fork over $20+ for their potentially inferior encodes and Zoom interviews.
Maybe it will show up elsewhere...I'd imagine Imprint will have it though that's no guarantee the encode will be any better.

No word on extras yet, but at least Shout is advertising The Ghost & The Darkness as being from a new 4K scan now.
Hopefully Femme Fatale will get the same treatment...

Definitely good. Also means there will be a real 4K transfer released somewhere -- streaming if nowhere else -- that will be superior to, or at least possibly have better encoding, than Shout's 1080p disc. Will weigh all the options before I throw down over $20 for one of their releases.

Re: Ghost & The Darkness coming to Blu
Shout's taking the month of May off from sending review copies of any of their titles apparently -- and this disc is a barebones disc with an MSRP over $20.
I love my physical media...but I'm not dropping over $20 for 1080p anymore when it's a 4K scan and there's a chance that scan is going to surface elsewhere. At the worst Paramount will release the 4K via streaming and it'll be $5 within a few weeks of release.
