For a studio that had five movies cross a billion worldwide just four years ago (one coming close to THREE billion), this is catastrophic, and the Pandemic can only account for a tiny fraction of their ill fortunes. They brought this on themselves trying to curry favor with a bunch of easily-outraged Twitter neckbeards, and it's gonna take years - if not decades - to get audiences to fully embrace them again, especially parents who don't like having to explain to their young children why a bearded man in a dress is greeting them at Disneyland. :?

I can't think of another entertainment conglomerate that has undergone such a spectacular - and swift - descent into utter bankruptcy than Disney since 2019. Hopefully they come out the other side humbled enough to prune away all the dead wood that led them to this.

Recently a woman came through my line at work with a bunch of Little Mermaid dolls that had been reduced to $2.99 apiece. And these weren't from this year's remake...they were based on the original movie. If Disney can't even move merch based on the ORIGINAL versions of their classics...
