Who needs a character arc, anyways...?

Isn't that preferable to the androgynous female characters (Rae, Captain Marvel, et al) that have marred the past decade's movies?
In this case, it's antithetical to Toph's original character, who rejected traditionally "feminine" attitudes. I haven't watched the first season of this live-action show precisely because they're changing the characters' key traits wily-nily, and for extremely baffling reasons (Sokka's sexism in the original series was there for a reason, for him to gradually learn that his attitudes were wrong as the series progressed and mature into a better person).Paul MacLean wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 11:15 pmIsn't that preferable to the androgynous female characters (Rae, Captain Marvel, et al) that have marred the past decade's movies?
I guess the pendulum is swinging the other way now.Monterey Jack wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 11:31 pm In this case, it's antithetical to Toph's original character, who rejected traditionally "feminine" attitudes.
