Youtuber "Wolfcrow" has some terrifically insightful videos which examine movies, cinematic technique, etc. I don't agree with him 100% of the time but this look at Superman: The Movie is really interesting...

Just looking at that thumbnail speaks volumes. Look at that plain, the sky...all real. You can feel the isolation Clark feels against this humongus non-computer generated natural vista. Coupled with Williams' music, I would argue those scenes are the most moving moments in the film - I look forward to watching the video this evening.
