I have no desire to see this but this acknowledgment of the previous films and its OJ joke is hilarious.

Joel McNeely scoring is a nice surprise, though. His score to A Million Ways To Die In The West was the only good part of that piece of sh!t.
Anyways, this got a chuckle out of me, so I'm willing to give it a shot.

I don't know why anyone making a comedy would cast an actor with one of the most dour, brooding screen personas of all time.
I think I'll pass.

How many comedies was Leslie Nielsen in prior to Airplane!? The joke in the prime ZAZ era WAS in hiring someone who wasn't a comedian, and having them play their role straight no matter how much wackiness was going on around them. This has possibilities.

The OJ gag was funny but I wonder if that's the best joke of the whole thing because I didn't think the rest of it looked good. Being excessive in comedy tends to wear itself out fast. The beauty of the original Police Squad, much like Airplane, was that it was played straight enough for it to be deadpan and funny. That opening scene they showed just looked like bombastic excess substituting for comedy.
Guess we will find out...though I may not be up for paying to find out. lol

He was actually in the Don Knotts comedy "The Reluctant Astronaut", but in the "straight" role.

David Zucker won't be seeing this new movie. The more I listened to him talk about Paramount passing on his NAKED GUN IV, and hiring MacFarlane and "young writers" instead, the more motivated I am to not watch this.

Is this why the guy couldn't do MISSION IMPOSSIBLE? Plate too filled up with THE NAKED GUN?

Has he ever WRITTEN a note of film music, because every time I see a movie with his name on it, there are always three or four "additional music by..." composers and a half-dozen orchestrators listed in the end credits. He's become Hans Zimmer's Mini-Me.
