"Beware! Beware of the big green Scrunt that sits on your doorstep. He eats little Narfs... Puppy dog tails, and BIG FAT SNAILS... Beware... Take care... Beware!" "Pull the string! Pull the string!" "Well, what did you think? Worst movie you ever saw? Well my next one...

Shyamalan is one of the most spoiled, arrogant filmmakers working today. He's a fine visual craftsman, and he's gotten marvellous scores out of James Newton Howard, but he deserves to get slapped down hard in order to squash is raging, out-of-control ego. Either that, or just give him his own anthol...

Honestly, calling Howard's character a "Narf"?

I am going to laugh heartilly come Monday when this barely grosses $20 million. Your 15 minutes are up, Night.

I finished the first disc of the Amazing Stories set tonight, and, ah, the 80's nostalgia! I had to laugh in "Alamo Jobe" when Jobe runs into a breakdancer who steals his hat! Agreed with Andy that the show's production values were very high, and mostly stand up today (and the ending...

I found it disappointing, myself. Too long, too repetitive, too many sequences that don't propel the narrative forward (like the entire, 20+ minute sequence on the island with Capt. Jack being worshipped as a God by the King Kong -looking natives. WTF was up with that, aside from filler?)...even Dep...

I just hope that all the individual SEs will be made available seperately, a la the Alien Quadrilogy. All I want is the first two films, the Fleischer cartoons, and the Look Up In The Sky documentary. No way in hell am I paying good money for Richard Prior and Nuclear Man.

They should stick Mark Wahlberg's performance of "The Touch" from Boogie Nights over the end credits.

Lost In Translation was one of my top five favorite films of 2003, so I want to give this the benefit of the doubt.

I should also mention most of Warner's SUPERMAN titles coming on DVD this week have a free ticket voucher in them for SUPERMAN RETURNS...so keep an eye out! Indeed. I got free tickets in my copies of The Animated Series vol. 3 and Brainiac Attacks (unfortunately, Andy's right about the latter being...

BTW, does anyone find it a really dumb business move to release this new SE two weeks after the remake came out? Most times, when a remake inspires a new SE of the original movie, the studio tries to have it in stores a week or two before the remake hits theaters (and often with free "movie cas...

I HATED the addition of the death of the U.S. official at the beginning, which really felt like upping the body count for no good reason at all. Lame. Hey, at least that was an actual new scene , which this film desperately needed more of. That's why I enjoyed the new version of Kathy Thorn's demis...

Sounds very nice, although the lack of the isolated score track from the '96 laserdisc is regrettable.

spoiler: what did you think of the beheading variation? I found it disappointing that it happens at the exact same moment and the chain reaction wasn't really strong, the final effect however amazing... especially how the body falls down the stairs  While it was certainly less plausible th...

Well, I found the remake to be moderately enjoyable, although so close to the original as the be slightly ridiculous. The supporting cast is great (although Mia Farrow is underused), and it's visually handsome enough. Schrieber and Stiles are miscast, though. Stiles may be 25, but she looks like a 1...
