Re: SPACE: 1999 Complete Series - Shout! Factory - July 16th
Don't forget the dreaded eye liner on Ed Bishop and Michael Billington...LOL Maybe so, but the (quaintly '60s) smoke rings Bishop puffs out makes up for it IMO  The only thing that put me off the original Network release, was the packaging. I would have liked the exclusive book that was includ...

Looks nice although I already have the Season 2 Network release.
I also have the Network UFO series. I wonder if they will balance the brightness a bit better, as that release was criticized for being a bit too bright.

Re: R.I.P. to Nick Redman
I'm sad to hear this. My first thought was of when I first heard of him, saving old film scores which were deteriorating beyond recovery in the early 1990s when very little of that sort of thing was being done. Reportedly, some of the tapes he was transferring were so fragile that they would have on...

My 2018 favorite TV series is a Korean series called My Mister . https://www.blogpastor.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/couple-2.jpg Its a drama about a structural engineer and the office temp he becomes involved with, the corporate politics he has to put up with and his relationship with his ne'er-d...

Re: Obsession (1976) - Scream Factory Blu-Ray Preview
I re-watched the ARROW release recently and I came away with a lot more positive impression than you guys. This time, I recognized one of the key exchanges between the Bujold and Robertson characters; where she tells him up front that she is a 'good Catholic girl'. I also appreciated John Lithgow's ...

Re: "Streaming Isn't Everything, And Blu-Rays Are Back to Prove It" - Wired Article
What makes me nervous about physical media is that it is so dependent on technology. Yes, the equipment to play physical media may still be there in the future, but nonetheless, it's not like you grandkids will be able to pick up a blu-ray like they could a book, where they could easily read it and ...

Re: OUTLAW KING - David Mackenzie's Robert the Bruce Epic
Hey if the locations are good and there's plenty of action it might foot the bill as a B-grade Braveheart, even though its something of a sequel! Might be worth it for that. I've been to two of the locations in the trailer -- Doune Castle (where most of Holy Grail's castle scenes were also shot) an...

Re: SUPERMAN 4K UHD with Remastered 6-Track 70mm Soundtrack
If you do buy a 4K player I believe they can be hooked up to a non-4K set, and the UHD discs played in 1080p just fine... I have hooked up an OPPO 203 to my Panasonic VT25 and 4K plays fine... just a few 'flashes' when loading different content on the disk, which I hear are slight handshake problems.

This is more like it.
Picked up Kiss of Death and Young Lions (saw that when I was young and have fond memories of it for some reason).
Would like to get Peyton Place but no funds just now.

Re: Twilight Time 7 for $70 Package Sale
Huh? Same old, same old. The 7 for $70 never went away and these titles have been offered for a while.
I've been checking on an ongoing basis, hoping that there is something interesting ... nope.

Re: Oppo Ceasing Production of All Players, Effective Immediately
Disappointing news. It's interesting that Cambridge Audio's latest generation CXUHD enthusiast player, which at least in my mind is in direct competition with OPPO 203, lost the DACs included in the previous generations. They said it was to improve performance (by reducing interference), but I wonde...

Re: Oscars 2017 - Better Late Than Never Edition
Give them a break, guys. Who would have thought? Beatty was hesitant in announcing it. Do you really think, faced with that situation that you'd do better? Watching it, I was very happy I didn't watch the show -- such speeches, ugh. It's all the result of Hollywood politics, anyway, not a true measu...
