however, it wasn't expensive, so it's ok, but for the most successful movie ever you could expect some more decent features I guess. Whatever, if they ever release another SE I certainly won't buy that. What Roman is saying is kind of what I meant Bill. I just don't consider those extras as really ...

One question I had for you -- is it true Lois has a kid in this movie? The FSM board has a few people who are claiming that, and I'd find it fascinating (and quite odd!) if that was the case. Yes, Andy, that is indeed true. Lois in this film has a young son. Whether the boy's father is her fiance' ...

Im sure they hired Stiles to attract younger people to the movie, but still... she is like 14 years younger than Schreiber, but well, that I don't mind, as such a couple compilation is quite normal, isn't it? And they don't look that much apart. She passes as 30 in the movie, so what? It's not like...

After seeing it a few times, I've come to the conclusion that SUPERMAN RETURNS does not have a great trailer. Strip it of the Williams and Brando audio and what do you have? And I still don't understand why they had to alter the colors of Superman's costume...these days it seems everyone has a bett...

Superman Cinema is reporting that the Donner cut of SII will reportedly have 75% Donner footage in it, which jibes with everything we've heard over the years about how much footage Donner shot for SII. What's interesting is that they're reporting that the new cut will apparently have 35% of footage...

I usually don't pay much attention to the Aint it Cool News "test screening reviews" but you should check out the guy who saw MIAMI VICE...a good read, a funny last paragraph, and I dunno, it just sounds "legit" for lack of a better term. PIRATES 2 looks fun -- it might be too mu...

Given what the original did to differentiate itself from other genre works, you might have expected to see someone like, say, a Michael Douglas or DeNiro been cast in this had Fox want to pony up the money While I think that Liev Schreiber is a fine actor (loved him in The Manchurian Candidate ), I...

There is just a little of background story with the priests and the pope preparing for the coming of the antichrist... that opens the movie and closes it, right before the famous shot of the kid standing next to the president and smiling devilishly into the camera Sounds good to me Roman, thanks so...

This may shock you, Andy, but most people under the age of 20 (the target audience of the remake) probably won't have seen the original. Hell, try getting any teenager to watch any movie made before, say, 1990, and they'll either laugh in your face or watch said movie and complain about how "d...

Roman, Thanks for the detailed report! I am curious to see the movie, and hear the music. So this really IS a straight remake then -- right down to the ending, open door for sequels, the whole nine yards? The whole problem with remakes, especially of contemporary movies (I still consider THE OMEN co...

the U.K. edition of Total Film magazine has included with its print publication the first commercially available DVD release of the "Superman Returns" teaser trailer, along with three of Bryan Singer's blogs: "To Fly" (#10), "Love Previs" (#20), and "20 Hours to S...

Re: Bob Newhart On DVD

I'll be picking up the new season 3 release of the Bob Newhart Show today, and am glad Fox is rolling this and subsequent seasons of the Mary Tyler Moore Show on a fairly regular basis now. The whole run should hopefully be done by the end of next year. As to why "Newhart" isn't appearing...

LOL!! I remember being how psyched I was when that show debuted on TV (I must have been 10), and then being so utterly crushed because it was so bad. It says something because AIRWOLF was a distinct rip-off (at least initially) of BLUE THUNDER and debuted at the exact same time (if I'm correct), but...

Did they give a release date for the cartoon now that 3/28 has come and gone with no DVDs? And in an unrelated topic, is HIGH ANXIETY going to be available separately from the Brooks box set? That's the Mel Brooks film I want most- Leachman and Korman are an absolute riot in that film. No idea Mich...

Re: What about that cabin boy?

:? Yeah, what about the cabin boy? Did he die on the island? Join the tribe? Get stomped by Kong? They kill off his mentor then he just disappears (as I recall). The ending line would have been more effective if his character or Brody's would have delivered it. Black saying it gave it no weight. At...
