The sequel/reboot/rermake prediction thread
Inspired by the announcement of a live-action version of the animated “classic” Fern Gully , I thought I’d start a thread where we all come up with our own predictions for what movie Hollywood will remake next, no matter how outrageous or unwanted. I have come up with several categories. Each member ...

Re: Oscars 26: SINNERS Becomes The Most Decorated Film EVER MADE
I don't care about the Oscars but I do love the YouTube channel Moviewise which has put out a few videos recently about the Best Picture and Director nominees. There are spoilers involved. He likes Sinners as a movie but points ou some major flaws in its direction.

The Shining (1980) 3 of 10
-Full disclosure. I have never read a Stephen King novel and until last night I have never seen a movie based on any of his books. I'm just not a fan of that genre and have a generally low level threshold regarding violence. But I decided to take advantage of a Prime ...

Re: Shout Factory MASSIVE Sale - $10 and Under
What's the story here? I saw a rumor a few days ago that Shout was getting out of the physical media business. I poked around on the blu-ray.com forums but don't know what's real and what isn't. People are saying Shout is moving all their stuff to Gruv. So is this a clearance sale to get rid of as ...

Re: Kino Lorber Fall Sale Is On
Barnes and Noble is also running a Kino sale with select titles 50% off (some cheaper than the Kino Fall sale.)
This must be "sale season." The Scream Factory Shocktober sale apparently starts next week. Criterion is due for a Flash Sale in October and then the B&N sale in November.

Re: LOST IN SPACE (1998) - Andy's Arrow 4K Review
Man the 90s had a lot of bad studio movies...as I'm remembering going through releases like this.
Yes, the 90s did have more than their share of bad studio films, especially in the last few years of the decade: 1997, 1998, and 1999. I might have been young in 1999 but whenever I hear ...

Hooray, it's...resoundingly adequate! :| While it's easily the "best" FF movie to date, clearing the low bar of the Roger Corman cheapie, the pair of lame-assed 2000s Fox entries and Fan4stic is not ...

And the movie will be available on VOD a few weeks after opening (no matter how much Nolan will complain about it.)

Re: Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning - Andy's Review
They actually tried to rectify that middle finger in this movie but as MJ noted it was shoehorned in and didnt make much sense (or have any payoff either).
Speaking of a middle finger...what do you guys make of them retconning the Rabbit's Foot from the third movie to now be something extremely ...

Re: Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning - Andy's Review
Interesting...I know very little about Scientology and always just assumed (incorrectly perhaps) that any religious symbolism in his movies would be tied to Scientology. Is that what it teaches???
I don't know much about Scientology either but I doubt any of the symbols I mentioned would have ...

I gave the movie 4 ½ stars. Here’s my letterboxd review.

I just watched the TV movie Sweet Sweet Rachel, which served as a sort of pilot for this show, (with a different cast) a few months ago.

Re: Thunderbolts *
Not to ask a dumb question, but I barely pay attention to the MCU anymore. So the new Avengers movie that the Russo brothers are shooting, is the cast supposed to be the characters from Thunderbolts? Or a different team? Is there going to be a New Avengers and an Old Avengers? Seems bizarre that ...
