Gee, maybe taking boy-centric franchises like Star Wars and Marvel and spending the last decade telling said fanbase they're racist, sexist, homophobic chuds for not accepting all of the one-note Mary Sue action figures jammed into their childhood toy boxes wasn't such a good idea.
