Pauses on the Get Smart DVD?

#1 Post by Mike Rhonemus »

I did not see the movie in the theater, since I heard it was terrible, which it is, but my wife wanted the DVD. We bought the regular (do not have or can afford the Blu-ray yet!), widescreen, with bonus scenes delivers 62% more "laughs" version. Well, you can view the movie the way it was played in the theaters or play it with the extra footage. Well, we tried it with extra footage first, which every time you come to the place in the movie where there is extra footage, the movie stops and Smart shows up on the screen in the telephone booth. Press a button and the extra scenes plays then back to the movie. This is very annoying! So, we started the movie over and at the same points that the extra footage was, the regular movie would pause and then go on. Have you encountered this? Do I have a bad DVD? I tried to find a review from you or a few places on the web on the Get Smart DVD, but I must be smart enough to find it. I have an e-mail into Warner Brothers and the company I bought it from to see if this is the way it was pressed or if I have a defective disc. I just not know if any one else encountered this?

It really bothers me especially when it happens during a music cue!!

Could be a pressing/authoring issue on the disc. The easiest way to prove that is just test some other DVDs and see if you see anything like that.

If you don't, then it's clearly a defective disc.

It is not the DVD player, I have tried it on 4 different DVD players and it does the same thing. There is no problem with any other DVDs. I just was wondering if anyone out there, who might have bought this DVD have experienced what I am experiencing. I have not heard back from the e-mails that I sent out to see if I have a defective disc. Thanks.
