I suppose...I don't know about you but the last time I was really blown away by anything Vangelis did it was all the way back on 1492. His soundtrack to Alexander was ok but nothing special to me.
So I'm just not feeling this hot "pick Vangelis!" vibe for this.
If Ridley wanted to evoke a Jerry Goldsmith feeling on the music...and I sorely hope that he does...I think Chris Young is about the only person active today that could pull it off so I stand by that choice or in my fantasy world Jeremy Soule which I know would never happen.
It's probably all moot because I strongly suspect I'm going to see the name Marc Streitenfeld on this thing, though, and I can shrug my shoulders at that.
