A cute teaser, and I looked forward to the rest. Also props on dropping the trailer on 6/9, dude.

Well, at least this isn't getting delayed, the PR release they sent today even said "available in theaters and ON DEMAND" September 1st.

What happened to the idea of Bill and Ted's daughters as the main characters?

In any case, I admire Reeves for doing this film. He doesn't have to (certainly after the success of the John Wick flicks), but he's clearly doing it for the fans (and, I suspect, for Alex Winter as well).

Good on him.

The poster has them both standing next to Bill & Ted so I think they're a main component of the picture.

I don't know how this is going to turn out, but I like the concept -- I'd rather the movie be about the middle-aged leads than a remake that just puts younger female leads through the same paces, with their dads just "popping in" for a cameo. Looks like this is a labor of love on a number of fronts, and while I'm not the biggest fan of these films, I certainly respect the effort and will check it out (though not in theaters it seems).

I think I'm finally sold on wanting to see it maybe despite myself.

Indeed. With so many of these "legacy sequels" downplaying the original cast into cameos or omitting them entirely (like how Will Smith was reduced to a portrait hanging on the wall in Independence Day: Resurgence) in favor of a series of "hip" young replacements (usually a multi-cultural mix to keep things "Woke" ), here we have one where the original leads are actually the focus of the movie, the same screenwriters as the first two and a hand-picked director some some decent comedy chops. And in this current social/political climate, the message of "Be Excellent, To Each Other" is one that is desperately needed. Shame the chance of seeing this theatrically is very low, as I would have killed to see this with an audience.

This definitely isn't an example of an aging actor bringing his more popular franchise character out of mothballs because he needs a hit, like Matt Damon with that last Jason Bourne movie no one remembers, or Bruce Willis with that desperately inert fifth Die Hard. :? Reeves is riding high on the John Wick franchise, and is generally beloved by all, most having long since gotten over the sniggering "He's a block of wood" jokes that dogged him for ages. Reeves may not be Daniel Day Lewis, but he's an enormously affable guy who, even if you chuckle at some of his more stilted line deliveries, somehow find yourself inherently liking him.

The first two barely squeaked part ninety.

90 minutes, 85 minutes is all good for a comedy but I can't think of any modern live action movie that's 80 minutes or under that was any good.

That said IMDB says 91 mins.so that makes.more sense

I think a portion of the film takes place in close to "real time", and that portion is going to be the "78 minutes" people have been misreporting.
